Field trips are designed for ages 12 and up.  Have you ever wanted to “bird watch” but didn’t know where to begin? Would you like to find some of the hidden gems in Essex County? Let New Jersey Audubon be your guide. Summer is the time to see, hear and learn about the species of birds that nest in Essex County. Walks encourage beginners and challenge experts. Registration is requested for all programs.  Space is limited; please call 908.396.6386 for more information and to register.

Varied habitat can be great for breeding birds of the woodlands and meadows. The combination of forest and meadow habitat makes for spectacular views of late summer residents actively foraging. Footing may be wet. Meet at Essex County Environmental Center, 621 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ  07068 and carpool to trail head. Cost: $8 members, $10 nonmembers
