Historic Profile

Built in 2010, the Essex County miniGolf Safari transports guests to an African oasis.  Designed in 3 distinct areas, guest begin their trek through the Sahra Desert region of the course.  Greeted by a lifesize camel, a set of pyramids, and sandy terrain, Putters must traverse through the the hard climate to enter the African Grasslands.  Featuring water falls and streams, tall shady grasses, friendly sharks and hippos, the African Grasslands lead you up and around the Course's Mt Kilmanjaro before you enter the Congo.  As you enter the Congo putt through a snake sanctuary, around a life size African Gorilla, and finish the Course and your journey by visiting the symbol of Essex County, a lion!!

In October of 2012, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. announced the  completion of an open air pavilion at the Essex County miniGOLF Safari. The 1,600 foot structure provides an additional seating area, as well as event space for rent by guests.
