Call for Artists Application Deadline

February 12, 2018

The Wildflower Sculpture Park invites artists to apply for its 2018 Annual Sculpture Exhibition. Selected sculptures for this outdoor exhibition may be in any media and need to safely withstand all weather conditions. The location is the Wildflower Sculpture Park situated in an active hiking area in front of a popular dog park at Essex County South Mountain Reservation, Maplewood, New Jersey. Installation areas include a 5 x 5-foot concrete pad with secure metal loops, a large grassy field, or woodland.  The installation must take place between April 1st-May 25th, 2018. The yearlong exhibition opens around Memorial Day 2018 and runs through April 5, 2019.

While the Curator of The Wildflower Sculpture Park and South Mountain staff will oversee and, at times assist if needed, the development and installation of the selected artwork, the artist is responsible for installation, any necessary maintenance, and removal of the work. An honorarium is included for selected artists. Essex County will broadly publicize the exhibition and provide an opening ceremony. Signage for sculpture will also be provided.

Deadline for applicants is February 12, 2018.
